That's fine. I don't want them to explain it to me. I don't deserve an
explanation. Really, I don't. That is NOT the point of any of this
Doak Ostergard DOES deserve an explanation. And according to Doak, he
DIDN'T get one! Surely the law does not PREVENT an employer from
relating cause for termination to an employee. Perhaps lawsuits
DISCOURAGE such a discussion, but as I mentioned previously I was
hoping Nebraska athletics was still an institution that would do what
is right, not what is simply expedient.
Would it be illegal for the athletic department to come out and say
"Doak Ostergard was fully informed of the reasons for our decision"?
Would that violate his privacy? Would it not squelch much of the
discussion blazing across the Internet? It seems like a very easy
thing to do, with wonderful benefits. So why aren't they even saying
that? By saying nothing the administration appears to be conceding to
Doak's contention that he wasn't told, and to me that's the part of
this whole situation that is of concern.
That's the last I'll say on this whole topic. I don't think I can
explain myself any more clearly, so if that doesn't do it, I give up.
:)
