Any chance that there is a relationship between harsh handling of dismissals and the need to pare from 200 down to 24 employees? Perhaps the remaining staff are demoralized and don't work as hard/be a loyal, etc.  Doesn't sound like a good example to me.

The Company I work for has been down sizing for the
past 5  years.  200+ salaried employee's 5 years ago
and now we have 24.  The methods my Company uses to
dismiss long time, good employee's is every bit as
harsh as what is being described on this thread.

Doesn't make it right, but I guess business is
business and you can expect to get your feelings hurt
sooner or later.
