I did not meant to contact Osborne about decisions. Osborne is on record as
saying his input would have been worth something though. I am only saying
he should get a courtesy call, early in his retirement, not now I wouldn't
think. Geeeesh. Uncle!

I really don't want to get involved in discussions about personnel moves in
the athletic department, but I did wonder the same thing here. This is not
typically what is done (contacting the former coach for decisions)
regardless of the stature of Osborne. Sure the AD and coach Callahan seem to
take a very business-like approach to what they do, but like it or not this
is the way things are done now a days in collegiate athletics. People on
this list need to let go of the past, and that can be very difficult,
especially after folks like Devaney and Osborne set the bar so high in
Lincoln.
