Whereas these are all "winnable," thoughts of "winning out" are probably unreasonable (although I'd head the list of people who wouldn't "bet against Doc").  Winning three of five would put NU at 18-12 on the year, 7-9 in Big XII play -- surpassing everyone's expectations at the start of the season.  They could fare better than that.  They may fare worse.

18-12 gets them into the NIT (maybe even with a home game), but I think 
it'll take at least 21 wins to get the NCAA to overlook those shellackings 
at the hands of Kansas, which means winning in round one of the Big 12 
tournament.

The Journal-Star ran a story the other day on the 'bubble' teams in the
conference, Nebraska wasn't one of them.
