It seems to me, having a shorted play clock after a timeout would not be much of a hardship; unless you've decided to run one of those 'multiple-shift' plays that seem to take so long to start.

on a slightly-related subject:  is there some rule that forbids (or at least, discourages) teams from a "real" huddle during a TV timeout ?  having been to a few live games, the teams just seem to stand around during a TV timeout.
