Highly likely in my mind. I also think there may very well be turnover in Oakland again long before there will be in Nebraska, so Gilmore may have found himself looking for yet another job in 2 years if he went to Oakland, who appears no where near contender status, at least until Al Davis gets out of the game.

Could his change of heart been influenced by Callahan ?
My reason is this. With Callahan having coached in Oakland and
having dealt with Al Davis could Callahan talked him out of go ?
