I wouldn't bet that Callahan could have done that at the Alamo Bowl that
particular year. From the experience he presented the next year, he
would have not been willing to use the strengths of the players and it
would have turned out to be a fiasco. After all, he could say (like he
did for most of the time he was at the helm as a "proven" coach that it
was all Solich's falt.
