Bob, How do you know that coach Les Miles was not showing Bo the
ropes ?
Have you been to the meetings that the coaches have ?
Have you been there in the the one to one meetings ?
You are just Assuming that he has not been shown the ropes as you
say.

You're are right. I don't know that for a fact. But, you
don't know he WAS shown the ropes either unless you were sitting
in on the meetings. What I was going on was what was made
public. It was pretty much accepted that when Devaney retired TO
would be the successor and Solich after TO. Solich even carried
the title Assistant Head Coach the last several years of TO's
reign. There was time and purpose to get these guys ready so it
would be a smooth transition. Miles would have had no apparent
reason to groom Pelini for Head Coach at LSU. Miles, at least
publically, wouldn't have thought he was going anywhere for some
time. That and a coach going to a different program or a guy
that is not close to retirement isn't usually interested in the
"pass the torch" situation as is a coach that sees retirement on
the horizon. The Devaney to TO and the TO to Solich situations
are not the same situation LSU was in this year. But, you are
right I don't absolutely know.
Sincerely,
Bob Beach
