***** ORIGINAL Robert Christensen MESSAGE FOLLOWS *****

Well Bob, we had a "proven head coach" these last 4 years and it
was a
complete disaster. The only thing about that great experiment
that
surprised me is how long a lot of the "WCO guru's" to admit it
was a
mistake. I am a lot more comfortable with the "unproven" Coach
Pelini
than I ever was with Callahan and company and I think there are a
lot of
other fans nationwide that are too.

It seems like your still wanting to stay on the Callahan band
wagon.
Its a fact, Pederson is gone, Callahan is gone, and Nebraska is a
lot
better because they are FINALLY gone!

Bob

I am totally cognizant of the fact that not everyone works
out everytime in all situations. But, job situations are
typically filled by those with experience unless there is no one
experienced available. Which I wonder if this wasn't at least
partially the position NU and TO were in? At the same point in
time, meaning after Callahan had been on about a month, I was
more comfortable with Callahan. Not only had he been a Head
Coach, he had taken a team to the Super Bowl. Obviously he
didn't work out but at the time it didn't look like a bad hire.
And, the reason Callahan didn't work out had nothing to do with
the WCO. That part of Callahan's regime seemed to work fine.

What I have possibly could have said that would lead you to
believe I am on the Callahan bandwagon at this point in time?
Callahan and Pederson both needed to go and they are gone. Their
reigns were nothing short of disaster. I have no problem with
that statement whatsoever. As a matter of fact I didn't know I
was ever on the Callahan bandwagon other than a few times I stuck
up for him like I would any coach. But, there was no way I knew
Callahan would fail less than a month after he was hired any more
than I know Pelini will be a success less than a month after he
was hired.

For the record Callhan had to go. I am not against Pelini
but I am not 100% convinced at this point in time either. Of
course, as with any coach, time could very well change that
opinion and I hope it does for the good. At this point I just
don't want to swing too hard in either direction.

Sincerely,

Bob Beach
