Well, I'm not on any bandwagon, and I'm not calling for a pickup
either. For what its worth, Bob, nobody has any idea really how
anyone is going to perform in any job, despite one's pedigree. Maybe
Pelini will suck at head coaching. A lot of people do. And I'd agree
that coaching is an old boys club, and they tend to stick up for each
other. I mean, listen to interviews with some of our arch enemies,
like Barnett from CU or Switzer from OU. They all love us, and they
love each other. Its a freakin' love fest.

The point that was being made was that, despite the old boys club and
the fact that Pelini may totally suck, despite all that, other coaches
have been giving him some high praise. I'm willing to give Pelini and
the coaches the benefit of the doubt. And I think most coaches will
say good things about him because they 1) actually believe that, 2)
they are glad they don't have to face his defense at LSU again, and 3)
they probably don't have to face Nebraska anytime soon. And again,
remember, I'm not on, nor have I even been on, a Pelini bandwagon. I
thought the guy from Wake would have been a good fit, or even the Navy
coach (but I think he was a candidate only because the media types
thought Nebraska wanted to pull into its shell and try to recreate the
past - completely). So, thanks for pointing out the downside, but I
think the upside is still good.

And the fact that I'm even responding to this is a true sign that
there's too much time between the end of the season and spring ball
when we suck and don't make even a low level bowl. I mean, imagine my
surprise to actually enjoy a bit of the Purdue game the other night.
C'mon April!!
