There is that possibility. However, I don't think one can reasonably
think NU is "happy" to lose players like LB Compton, DE Kuli, and RB
Gray, all of whom had offers from multiple elite programs. Givens and
Robinson? Don't know .. if they are prototypical pass blockers and
Pelini is looking for more run blocking, perhaps those guys aren't a
big loss.

Then they are wondering what Texas, OU, Florida, and Miami, et al, saw
in those guys too.

That's possible too, for some. I think Kuli and Compton are still
outside shots. I think Gabbert, Givens, Robinson, Rippy, Williams and
Gray are just plain gone.
As others have mentioned, after the dead period we will start to see
activity on some players who have had us on their lists for a while
but hadn't committed anywhere, and some players with some renewed
interest.
