I think maybe you and I will stick by him - but remember earlier in the  year 
- with his alcohol related problem, I asked (sarcastically) if some wanted  
him hung for his offenses.  I got a few off list and one on list reply that  
yes - they wanted him punished and off the team.  So, as with anything, you  
have to look at it from his side.  I suspect he was not treated as nicely  as you 
perceive.  
 
Also - he probably took Callahans firing pretty hard -(even hostages start  
feeling a love for their captors:} )  Callahan stuck up for him and helped  him 
through some pretty tough times in his life.  It would be interesting  to see 
him play one more year in college - and see what he can really do.
