[Husker] Corey McKeon's take on what went wrong

In a Chicago Tribune story, McKeon says that they changed the
defense, and that he thinks maybe they got overworked in the spring
and summer.

Interesting.
What exactly did they change on defense? I don't remember hearing
anything about any drastic defensive changes...not in the same way as
when NU went to the 4-3.
And, given the lack of energy on D, maybe he's right in that they
were tired even before the season started?
One thing I remember hearing was that O-lineman were running in
practice and workouts much, much more than in the past...making
comments like "We're running more than most teams' receivers run."
That's just another clue that maybe the Callahan staff had a bad
approach to conditioning. O lineman need to be in shape, for sure,
but they need to be able to provide an awesome 5 second burst 80
times a game, not the ability to sprint 100 yards.
