Well how do you know he is not taking care of the other programs. Maybe he is doing things there that just aren't news worthy? You know what he is doing for football because it is in the paper everyday.

No most would not have felt comfortable with BB or SP out recruiting but I dont remember either of them coaching for 20+ years or winning any MNCs.

TO is paying more attention to the football program because that is the program that: A. is making the most money for the athletic department and B. is in the most need of management right now. My guess is that the AD at KU probably spends more time with the bball program then the others.

And last Tom is acting like the AD. He is doing a little more then most ADs do but he is still acting like the AD.

Not that it really matters, but I was trying to emphasize a point I've been
making all along. Tom Osborne has not been acting as the Athletic Director
for the University of Nebraska. He's been concentrating solely on the
Football program. From all accounts, Steve Pederson was not fired because
of a single sport, but because of his handling of the entire department.

Look, I really do like Tom Osborne, and I'm glad he's back to restore the
order of the football program. It just seems to me that he is acting more
like the Assistant AD for Football than the AD. Is it possible for him to
give the other programs the attention they deserve while he is out
recruiting?

For what it's worth, would any of us have felt warm and fuzzy if Bill Byrne
had been recruiting when TO retired or if Steve Pederson had been recruiting
when FS was fired? I think we all would have thought it was out of their
jurisdiction. I don't even think we'd have felt good if Bob Devaney (the AD
from 1967 to 1993) would have been out recruiting in 1973 when TO took
over.

Another FWIW...although I am a fan of the other sports, I, like most
Nebraska fans, am mostly concerned with the football team. When the other
teams lose, I say "rats...maybe next time". When the football team loses, I
say things that aren't allowed on the List...ergo, I don't mind the position
TO is taking.
