All this uproar over TO recruiting is completely overblown, IMHO. Here are a
couple of quotes from the articles with url's following.....
"NCAA rules stipulate that the head coach is allowed only one in-home visit
to a potential recruit. But a provision allows the coach Osborne hires to
visit any recruit whom Osborne visited as interim head coach. In addition,
Osborne can remain on staff, technically as an assistant, to visit recruits
after the head coach is named":

"Normally, under NCAA rules, only coaches can go on the road recruiting. But
according to Tim Cassidy, when there are sudden coaching changes, there is a
provision that anybody within the program can be activated as a recruiter,
provided that person passes a test":

Now there has been no coaching change in Basketball, Baseball, Wrestling,
Soccer, or as far as I know Swimming, Archery, Bowling, Mumblety Peg*, Pin
the tail on the Donkey* or any other sport....(*feeble humor attempt alert)
So TO will not be recruiting for them....
I am sure TO feels for and puts all sports on the same level, but I don't
know how comfortable he would be recruiting for any of the other sports
either. TO knows football. But if another coaching change occurs during TO's
time as AD, then the debate can officially begin. Until then, the point is
mute*! (*another feeble humor attempt alert)
