[Husker] Hopefully Bob Beach wasn't a betting man...

I listened to the press conference and the interview with Pelini after.
They asked him if he wanted to come back and if he thought that he might be
back at NU. He replied that he always looks forward and didn't think about
wanting to come back and then said he never figured he would be back at NU.
So Pelini and Bob were of the same opinion that Pelini was history and would
never coach at NU.
I'm disappointed with the hire. I have nothing against Pelini and hope he
is the savior everyone in the state is hoping for. My disappointment is it
seems to me that TO came into the AD office, sat down, and asked his new
secretary: "What's the news out there on the street? Go to husker at tssi.com
and read all the posts since the news came out about the pending firing of
BC. Give me the names of the coaches the list members want or think would
be good." She came back with: "Dr. Tom, the list says Pelini, Gill, Grobe,
and Brian Kelly, with Pelini the favorite and Gill close behind." So Dr.
Tom went out and interviewed Pelini, Gill, Grobe and (rumored) Kelly. He
chose Pelini. H_ll, this list could have done this job w/o interviewing a
single candidate.
I was hoping the clever and cunning Dr. Tom would beat the bushes in college
football and come up with a hire that would surprise and absolutely knock my
socks off. A guy or gal (wouldn't that have been a bold move) that has been
operating under the radar, a diamond in the rough like many of the players
TO recruited, with an incredible record in HS and college football and Dr.
Tom was a genius for uncovering him/her.
With the above opinion and $5.00 you can get a coffee at Starbucks.

Ouch...hopefully Bob can come around from that opinion. I, for one, am
proud to see Bo wearing red once again!
Ya know Pat if you think it is great to nail me to the wall then do it.
I assume you feel you can never be wrong. You had to go way back in
the
archives to get that one. I said that when Pederson was AD with no way
of knowing what was going to happen. At that time I didn't think
Pelini
himself would want anything to do with NU. Once TO was named AD of
course everything changed. I don't like the hire of Pelini at all.
But,
TO should know what he is doing even though TO recommended Steve
Pedersdon which is the major reason Pederson was AD in the first place.
I watched the press conference but one thing Bo didn't address. That
was
if he doesn't have a big time winning record in 3-4 years his butt will
be run out of town just like Callahan's was. Welcome to Nebraska Bo.
Bob Beach
