[Husker] LSU in Title game? Implications for Nebraska

It looks like the scrambled up mess currently called the BCS will send a
twice beaten LSU team to play an overrated and untested Ohio State team
for the national title. I think ESPN, in their rush to be first on news
stories and abandoning accuracy, has come out of this mess with egg on
their face big time. Kirk (boy do I have a scoop) Herbstreit was
giddily announcing his news on College Gameday that Miles has already
bolted to Michigan which turned out to be nonsense.

With this as backdrop, I think the Pellini to Nebraska rumor is actually
true, although I think last night's game puts a question mark on whether
it will actually happen. Correct me if I am wrong (and I am sure
someone will :)), but I believe that an assistant coach like Pellini who
takes a job with another team after the regular season would foregoe the
bowl and move directly to the new team (Nebraska) to get recruiting
going. Well, if I were Pellini (and I wish I was), I don't think I
would want to pass up a chance to coach in the National Championship
game against my alma mater.

If he does insist on being in the title game, then the big question is
whether Osborne will wait for him until after the bowl game and continue
to be the interim coach and lead recruiter. Maybe it is no big deal but
it seems like this could be a sticking point.
