Before Wanny came to Pitt, they had gone no worse than 7-5 in the
previous 5 seasons under Walt Harris and actually went to the Fiesta
Bowl in 2005.
While Pitt may not be Nebraska, they do have a rich football history,
including 6 national championships (although only one of them came after
WWII) and a Heisman trophy winner. They have yet to even go to a bowl
under Wanny, who has been an utter failure of a head coach every where
he's gone. At least Callahan had *one* great season in the NFL, and a
couple respectable (but mediocre) seasons at Nebraska.

The WVA loss was shocking, but I was not surprised to see OU beat
Missouri. Oklahoma has been the class of the Big 12 ever since Stoops
arrived in Norman, and Mizzou was simply having a "once every 20 years"
type of season. Unfortunately for Mizzou, they met their match tonight.
One would think this BCS mess does affect the Nebraska coaching
situation, because most pundits seem to think that Ohio State will play
LSU in the title game. If that's the case, the question is whether
Pelini will coach in that game, or depart for Nebraska before January?
All of this assumes, of course, that these rumors have substance.
