Absolutely!  If you sensed some concern with a guy your paying $500K a year, why to you lock yourself into this guy for a long-term contract?  That's the question I wished the reporters would have asked HP when he was announcing SP's firing.   

Sounds like "I voted for the bill before I voted against it."

What I don't understand is why was SP granted a guaranteed contract? Why
does an AD that obviously wasn't going to leave and go somewhere else get a
guaranteed contract that we now need to buy out?  I understand why ADs do
that with coaches (recruiting purposes), but why did Pearlman find it
necessary to do with SP?  

Any thoughts?
