This smacks of a largely generational observation. I am not sure what "negative image" hip hop music has, but is it any worse than the "negative images" of rampant drug and alcohol abuse of 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's or 2000 rock and rollers? To make a blanket statement that hip hop music has a "negative image" is stereotypical and uninformed. Does a personal dislike of something mean that it has a "negative image"?
Further, keep in mind that intro music is as much to get the team pumped up and into the game as it is to entertain the fans and get them into the game, and when the team (and probably half the fans in the stadium) consists of a generation(s) that couldn't even tell you who the Alan Parson's Project is, maybe it isn't so bad that the music be freshened up a little bit.
A big part of me feels like this is just another example of criticism of Pederson and the Nebraska Athletic Department for the sake of criticism.
32 HOURS TO KICK-OFF (and the newly ruined Tunnel Walk)
