I had the great good fortune and pleasure of watching it. The public 
voted the '95 Huskers #1 and the '72 Huskers #2 as the all-time best 
teams, plus the '94 Huskers as fourth or fifth all-time best teams.

Herbstreit was apoplectic and nearly speechless. He sniveled and 
whined and carried, and he even said sarcastically that in that case 
the '97 Huskers should be the third best of all time.

In brief, he embarrassed himself by behaving like a provincial snot-nosed brat.

The attending coaches, among them Switzer and Holtz, gave him no 
comfort whatsoever.

You can bet that this year's omission of the Huskers is just one of 
his petty "revenge" tactics.
