My point is twofold.. All you ever hear is how the recruiting was so bad
when Mr Solich was the head coach.
This article showed that may not be the case. The information is relevant
because it also shows the wisdom of
our current Coach Callahan when he says "I dont Discriminate" "They're our
kids. We love them" They're ours
and we embrace that."
As Nate Swift was quoted Sometimes the guys who are here with the old coach
get pushed aside," Swift said. "More often than not, the new coach wants his
guys to play. There definitely was a lot of talent here that Solich brought
in here and that Callahan brought in that first full year recruiting."
Take what you want from the article. My main thought on when I posted this
was I don't want to start another
Solich vs Callahan debate, (PlEASE don't do that!) but to present the facts
as they are. Those who thought
Solich did such a terrible job may see him in a new light. Also, the article
points out to me that Coach Callahan
is smart coach who wants to win, and will play the best players, not only
those who he recruited. I'm looking
forward to Coach Callahan leading us for years to come.
