[Husker] Keller

That ASU/LSU game really should have a bunch of
asterisks behind it. It was LSU's first game of the
season, moved at the last minute from Baton Rouge to
Tempe as the LSU campus was a refugee center for
Hurricane Katrina refugees. The LSU campus was
temporary housing for many people, and the players
split their time between practice and volunteering
with relief efforts.

Now, I think Keller's USC performance is exactly at
the other end of the spectrum...it's better than it
looked. Keller knew he had to take chances to make
plays if the Devils were going to have a chance. So
he forced throws...and got a few picked off.

In the middle? Well, he went 14 for 24, 208 yds, 4
TDs, 2 INT's against Temple (#108 in passing
efficiency); 20 for 31, 409 yds, 4 TDs, 0 INTs against
Northwestern (#70 pass efficency); 19 for 36, 365 yds,
4 TDs, 0 INTs against Oregon State (#107 in pass
efficency); 31 for 56, 277 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs against
Oregon (#26 in pass efficency)

Decent numbers, yes. But I'm not sure I'd say that
Nebraska has "never" had a player who could put up
these numbers. I think we all wonder what Brook
Berringer would have done in an offense like this.
