[Husker] Joba's Yankee Debut

It's finally official, Joba made his first appearance as a Yankee tonight.
I watched on MLB.com. His fastball was good, but you could tell he was a
little nervous. His slider was sick though, almost every time he threw it,
the batter at least checked his swing. Good MLB hitters (Overbay, Hill,
Rios) all looked pretty silly with it. It was VERY tight and broke a solid
8-12 inches very sharp. He had a good slider at NU, but this is a legit big
league pitch.

Most fastballs were 95-99 mph and the slider was about 85. His heaters were
a bit up in general, but again, that's usually what happens when a pitcher
is nervous. At the end of the 8th, Jeter ran over and gave him a pat and
said something as he ran by. The Yankee announcers made a comment about how
all the big pitchers for the Yankees came out to watch (Mussina, Pettite,
etc). Roger couldn't as he was tossed out in the 7th (in the midst of a
2-hitter) for plunking Rios.

Line:

2IP / 0 R / 0 ER / 1 H (barely) / 2 BB / 2K

Great work for Joba, I'll chalk up the walks to nerves as he's really not
known for that.

Yankees win 9-2!
