Not to throw a damper on this Joba chatter, but during the current broadcast, the announcers spoke of calling up a pitcher named Jim Brower and  designating Mike Meyers for assignment.  No mention of Joba.  The Yankee site at Yahoo says the same:

I guess there could be another move afoot that neither the announcers nor Yahoo have mentioned yet, but I could not find it.
