Yeah, before last Monday's game he was scratched as the starter and asked to
pitch an inning of relief. The Yankees intend to use him as a middle
reliever as the season winds down.
His first appearance as a reliever on Monday with AAA Scranton:
1 IP / 0 H / 0 BB / 0 R / 3 K
Second with AA Trenton (because of the proximity to N.Y. so he could get his
passport, probably to travel to Toronto with NY on Monday)
1 IP / 0 H / 0 BB / 0 R / 2 K
Third relief back with AAA Scranton last night:
2 IP / 1 H / 0 BB / 0 R / 5 K
Total reliever stats:
4 IP / 1 H / 0 BB / 0 R / 10 K
The Yankees will use his as a starter long term, but their middle relief has
been atrocious and they've been looking for options.=

Pardon my ignorance but is he now a reliever? 2IP is not a lot of
innings but he indeed did dominate.
