Wow, I hadn't heard about that until now (both the tragedy and the game).
That's a very unfortunate incident.
Here's the video of Gordon's homer:

What a shot. Hit the 'This is Twins territory' sign in a bit of irony.
That sign's a solid 50-feet above the fence in right field. He has such a
beautiful swing :)
I love mlb.com, btw. You can see about 5 or so highlights to every game
that was played together and if you're a subscriber like myself, you can see
a longer recap of the game, you can see a condensed version of the game, or
you can watch the game in its entirety.
What a great website.

In the midst of tragedy here in Minneapolis, there was a baseball game
between the Twins and Royals last night - with the Royals winning 5-3 in
10 innings on Alex Gordon's 2-run BOMB. For those that didn't see the
game, he absolutely crushed a grooved 1-1 fastball off of much maligned
Twins middle-reliever Juan Rincon.
While sports, and the Twins, are not on the minds of us who live here in
the Twin Cities and who cross that bridge everyday, the game, and the HR
by Alex (even though it beat my Twins) provided a nice mental break from
the sad reality of yesterday's events here - at least for me.
A lot of Husker List members live here in the Twin Cities and I hope
this message finds all of them, their loved ones and their colleagues
safe and sound.
Jeff
