[Husker] LP is still making news; along with some other noteworthy players

I don't agree with LP being the worst overall. As bad as he was (draft pick vs actual NFL production), there were several who didn't even play a down, others like Ryan Leaf were even more hyped with minimal production, and still others who created even more drama/turmoil than LP (Rae Carruth, Art Schlichter, et al).

Someone else had a similar list and Bruce Pickens, LP and Trev Alberts were all on the list. Pickens was mentioned the the "honorable mentions" but I really believe he was an extremely poor selection rather than a failure to live up to hype. Pickens wasn't an AA, nor even highly thought of by Husker fans in retrospect. The Falcons just picked him third to the surprise of most analyists. Alberts failings were more due to injuries, although there were stories that he really didn't WANT to heal rapidly. Hard to separate fact from fiction there. Still, Alberts hung around for four years before retiring due to injury.

Only because he was not the overall no. 1 pick that year - but he is the worst of all players ever picked in the 6th spot. I would bet he would be in the running for the overall no. 1 worst first round pick if it were to be sorted that way.
