      You're right.  We'll never know.  I don't have the time to point 
to every factor about the Solich tenure.  It also may be true had Solich 
stayed in charge things would be worse than they are now.  My main point 
in this thread was simply the football program hasn't been ruined under 
Pederson.  That, and there was going to come a day when the good old boy 
pipeline would wear out anyway.  The overall athletic department is at 
minimum in no worse shape than when he took over.
