Funny that Steve Pederson has such a polarizing effect on everyone. He
does on me - just about everything the guy does I find aggravating. Maybe
he understands that, and hasn't been seen publicly as much. It's pretty
obvious that he's a control freak - if his boss doesn't even know what the
status of funding is - how the hell is Tom Shatel ever going to get a real
interview?
Is that so bad, though? Or is it just different? If it's just different,
then why does it bother people so much? Do you have to like everyone in
order to reach the common ground of wanting them to be successful?
For a few months now, I've been reviewing college football books on my
blog, and it's something that I'll continue. Over those few months, I've
learned more about college football history than I've known in the
previous 44 years, while at the same time gaining a sense that no matter
who the coach is or what the team is like that the state of Nebraska will
continue to look to it's football team as a symbol of state pride.
Whether Steve Pederson is liked or not, succcessful or not, the Huskers
will go on and I plan to stay rooting for them regardless of who's in
charge.
