[Husker] Perlman gives Pederson a vote of confidence

So, is 'ruining NU football' now considered an accomplishment? Is this an objective opinion? I am interested to know why some folks on this list jump at the chance to slip in snide remarks like this everytime the AD's name comes up. Isn't the word 'accomplishment' usually a positive connotation? I'm obviously no literary expert, but I don't get the sarcasm here. It sounds like you may be implying that the AD has ruined the football program, or more specifically, things have been altered from where they used to be. Did you really think, when you were a kid attending NU games (or watching them) that Nebraska would be 10-2 for the next 700 years? Or that the team would have the same 300 employees all still here into their 90's?

I don't know the AD personally, in fact from every indication it sounds like he is a real tool, but why is it that people can't get over the changes being made in the football program? It reminds me of children on the playground having temper tantrums because the bully took their ball and jacks away from them. Find a new ball, get some new jacks, and keep playing, or, lament the old ball and jacks that the bully took and look like a fool well into adulthood. To me, the choice is quite simple, and although things in Lincoln could clearly have gone better in the last several years, how about focusing on the present and future?

If not, well I guess we can all recite "It just didn't have to happen" over and over and click our heels together three times and maybe we will all end up back in 1992 again.
