I was at the game, I'll take a crack at it.

>> 1. Are Keller and Ganz that equal? The stats seem to indicate they are.

At least today they sure seemed that way. It seemed Keller has quite a bit
more natural talent, but Ganz was very consistent and with the exception of
1 or 2 balls, really didn't have any bad throws.

As for Keller, he also looked pretty darn good, but also botched a handoff
(or fake, not sure) and the ball ended up on the carpet.

Both QB's had very little pressure all game and the WRs were playing against
the 2nd string CBs all day, so it's hard to get a perfect judgement.

Overall, I'd give the better day to Ganz, but it was VERY close. Ganz looks
like a very capable backup. That being said, I'd be shocked if Ganz started
in the fall tho because Keller does seem to have a much better arm.

2. Is the defense that good? What were the highlights?

Defense was solid all day, but again you have to take it with a grain of
salt because they were really going up against a 2nd/3rd team opponent (if
you were even close to 1st string, you played on red, so many positions had
1st and 2nd stringers on red). Andre Jones had SEVERAL nice breakups and a
pretty nifty interception on a ball he tipped up in the first place.

3. Is there that big of a disparity between the 1st and 2nd units? If so,
what does that say about depth?

There must be since it was 500 yards to about 10. That being said, I'll say
again, it wasn't really 1 vs 2. It was more like 1 vs 2.5 or 3.

I really think we have some good depth at several positions.

I thought the best defensive player of the day might have come from the
white team in Ricky Thenarse. He had several good hits and just really
played well all day long.

Lucky had a couple really nifty runs and Cody looked almost back to form.
Culbert didn't look too bad as the other running back either.

FYI, the game is being aired tonight at 8:00pm on the NFL network (223 on
Cox in Omaha) so if you didn't catch it the first time you can watch it
there.

For those able to watch the game, I have a few questions.

1. Are Keller and Ganz that equal? The stats seem to indicate they are.
2. Is the defense that good? What were the highlights?
3. Is there that big of a disparity between the 1st and 2nd units? If so,
what does that say about depth?

This is indeed a very historical day. Today was the spring game and
unless I missed it there was not one post prior to the game, during the
game, and to this point after the game. I can't remember that ever
happening before. If anyone is interested the Reds won 38-0 with all the
scoring taking place in the first half.
