colored goggles) to see Callahan ranked behind Stoops and Brown.  The 
top two are pretty much a no-brainer in terms of accomplishments and 
sustained success.

Even as someone who is frequently critical of Callahan, 3rd best coach 
in the Big 12 might be accurate .  I think the only other coach you 
could argue as "3rd best" would be Mike Leach.  I'm not a huge fan of 
his gimmicky offense, but given Texas Tech's talent, I think it's the 
best fit for them.  Franchione and Gary Pinkel are mediocre coaches in 
my opinion, and the rest of the Big 12 coaches are too young to be given 
a fair judgement.

But like all newspaper/magazine lists, their purpose is to attract 
readers, so it's hard to take them very seriously...
