I have no reason to not believe him. I guess the question I would
have though, is he just figured that out? This isn't his first Head
Coaching job. He was at Marshall and Kansas State before so he should have
some feel for the comfortability at Creighton. My guess is he still had
that fire burning for a National Championship and the likelihood of winning
one at Creighton is very slim. As a matter of fact the likelihood of
winning one at ANY Valley school is slim. To say he is retiring at
Creighton says his main goal isn't a National Title. His family is his main
goal and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Again, not to beat a dead horse and you're probably right. But, I just
can't figure out how he would get in that position. Talking any career move
over with your family is number one over and above anything else. Typically
you know exactly where your family stands before you say yes or no to any
career change and particularly one that involves relocation. If you and I
both know the Arkansas situation is a mess I would have to believe Altman
knew that before he got there.
To reiterate, I have nothing against Altman. As a matter of fact I
thought a certain team that wears red and plays in the Devaney Center would
have been well advised to go after Altman in earnest when Collier was gone.
In the end you have to do what is right for you and your family regardless
of how it looks to others. I respect him for that. When I see things that
to me don't add up I usually question things. I am not finding fault. I am
just trying to piece the puzzle together. Maybe I am reading way too much
into it.
