Subject: [Husker] All quiet on the list

I'm hoping the quiet on the list is in anticipation for a sound thumping of
the Trojans of Troy. I'm still thinking the Huskers will handle this game
easily...but maybe not beat the spread. I think I saw this morning that it
was up to 24.5. That seems a bit high to me. Nebraska should score in the
30's, but Troy will put up at least 14...although a shutout would be nice!
Let's hope that Carriker and Co can put Haugabook on his butt and running
for his life when they don't.

The Huskers should win but Troy will be formidable. They gave Georgia
Tech and Florida State all they wanted and those two games were road games
for Troy.

I got to shake hands with Doc Sadler yesterday at the Lincoln airport.
I was in the Minneapolis airport getting ready to fly back to Lincoln and I
noticed getting ready to get on the plane was a tall (6-6 or so), young
Korean man. Actually I don't know he is Korean but he is of Asian
nationality. I wondered if he was a possible recruit or he just happened to
be a tall guy going to Lincoln. Well, at the Lincoln airport Coach Sadler
and Philip Mathews, one of the assistants, were waiting to greet this young
man. Going down the escalator to baggage claim I happened to be on the step
behind Sadler. I had a newspaper in my hand and I touched him on the elbow
with it and when he turned around I extended my hand and welcomed him to
Lincoln. I also wished him well in his endeavor as NU basketball coach. He
shook my hand and thanked me and kiddingly said "there's no pressure on me."
He said, "the pressure is all on these guys" and he pointed to the young
man. That is all that was said and they were gone and I had to get my bags.
Sadler was extremely friendly and energetic. I know that doesn't
automatically translate into wins but I certainly had a favorable first
impression.

I have never learned anything when I was doing the talking.
