I hate to say this, but that's actually good news considering the alternatives.

True, almost to a shocking degree.

Kenny Wilson may still do so. Different backs will succeed against 
different teams.

But he seems to be the best pass protector and run blocker, a major 
consideration.

Matt Davison said that the flight home was even quieter than after a 
"regular" defeat because most team members realized they hadn't been 
ready to play on the USC level. My guess is that the USC game will 
eventually be seen as the launching platform for a new intensity on 
the part of the Husker squad. Now it won't encounter a new level when 
playing Oklahoma and Texas.
