I used to have a client near there, I had many a lunch from them.
It seems like they've been around FOREVER.
Living in SW Lincoln (Old Cheney & 27th area), I haven't been there in
a long time, probably a year or more. I agree that their onion chips and
dip are quite good. (Made-Rite sandwiches are similar to Tastees, but
not as good.)
White Castle is definitely an acquired taste. I used to work for a company
in Chicago that had their offices down the block away from one, we'd go
there for 'conferences'.
Whenever I'm back in the Chicago area, though, I always try to find some
place serving Italian Beef sandwiches, another taste I acquired while
working for that company. I haven't been to a Husker game for a couple
of years, there used to be a stand selling them outside Memorial Stadium
on the west side, I've been tempted to drive down there about halftime,
just to get a decent sandwich. (They understand what 'wet' means.)
