Take a look at this stat from the Troy-FSU game...
FSU
Rushes- 28
Rush Yards- 83
Average per rush- 3.0
You can bet this wont look anywhere near this for Nebraska. FSU's running game was awful that night (and I belileve it still is) and I think the Huskers will run it all over Troy.
NU- 35
Troy- 14

Subject: [Husker] A New Week, Another bunch of Trojans
Hmmm..... I've heard that line before. Maybe when I was younger....but I
digress.....
So, it's Thursday and we're still complaining about the last bunch of
Trojans. Can't we just throw them away by now? What's done is done.
Troy will run the spread, four WR's a lot of time, most of the time
actually, so it'll be interesting to see what they do in the rain this
Saturday. Throw the ball around. A lot. Challenge our weak secondary.
We need to hit that quarterback again, early and often. Maybe they'll do
the same thing the last set of Trojans did... bubble screen, going wide,
rolling the QB, keep him protected, safe.
Their defense is small and speedy, which (GASP!) means we could use last
week's game plan - running the ball continually - and wear them down and
beat them late. Better that than, well, turning the ball over repeatedly
like FSU did, and giving Troy a chance to stay in the game.
Of course, if we use the same game plan, then we'll all be moaning and
complaining about how much we're running, even though every back will get
plenty of carries because we'll run more than 50 plays. Someone will say
"Hey, this is just like Frank's offense without the option" and then
someone else will... oh hell, you know it's going to happen until we win a
big game under Callahan.
Maybe we should set some rules, like - Sunday/Monday will be like
complaining about last Saturday's game, and Tuesday will be set aside for
complaining about that damned Bill Callahan and whatever game plan he had
last week, and then Wednesday on, we could like talk about the upcoming
opponent. Maybe make stuff up if we don't know anything. Who would notice?
Did you know that Troy's QB is named Haugabook? I didn't think so. Did I
make that up? Would you notice?
I'm going away now, before this gets much worse.
Prediction:
Nebraska 33
Troy 14
btw, the game's on PPV.
