After reading Steven's reply to my reply to his reply which was a
response to my original agreement with Roger's post, all I can say
is: Wow.

My apologies to the list for opening this hornet's nest. This will
be my last post in this thread. If I choose to reply to Steven, I'll
do so off-list. And his email has now been added to my "direct to
the trash" filter, like a few others have been over the years. As
someone who has been on the list since the beginning days of not only
Mike's list, but the very Internet itself, I've seen plenty of un-
friendly exchanges, and I've always stayed out of them. I guess my
mistake was offering an opinion on game-plan. I'll add that to my
mental list of "what subjects not to offer input for fear of stirring
up the combative-types".

I do, however, have to respond to one area of Steven's latest reply:

My statement above in the previous post was actually this:

According to you: By increasing passing ratio a small bit we would
"have seen a NU offense totally outclassed".

Steven either intentionally or mistakenly deleted the words "a small
bit" in this last reply. Again, for added emphasis, my point was
that A FEW more passes and/or threat of the pass through formation
would have given us a better chance to win. Secondly, with SUCH a
heavy lean towards the run, it appeared as if we conceded the game
before it started. Disagree if you want, but I can certainly have an
opinion on this list without providing Greg Mays-like football
analysis. I don't think you have to be a coach to disagree with a
coach's game plan. I don't think disagreeing with a coach's game-
plan or decision puts me in the "anti-Callahan" camp. I can
certainly love the Huskers avidly while yelling at the TV for
different play calls from time to time. Heck, I spent most of my 20's
and 30's doing the same when Tom Osborne was the coach, and I regard
him as one of the best coaches of all time. Overall, I'm still very
positive about this season, although I don't think a ride to the Big
12 Championship is an automatic. Nothing, in football, is.
