Well, if it's a substitute for P.O. Pears, you probably aren't looking for
a 3 star restaurant, not that there are any of them in Lincoln.

I still consider 'Chances R' in York the best restaurant in the state,
(not for the ambiance, for the food) but I'm not really into fancy dining
either, lots of nights I'll settle for a salad and a large bowl of my
home-made vegetable beef soup. (I make about 12 quarts of it at a time,
and freeze most of it, so I can have it on a few hour's notice.)

Does it have to be downtown? There's an Old Chicago Pizza in the Haymarket,
plus numerous other restaurants, all of them likely to be very busy on game
day. If the Manhattan Deli is open they have some fairly good sandwiches
and the most authentic blintzes in town. Kuhls in downtown has a loyal
following, though I haven't been there in years. (I seldom get downtown
at all.)

There's a Red Robin (best onion rings in town) and a Famous Daves in
the SouthPointe area, plus another Old Chicago. (I wasn't impressed
with Whiskey Creek, though.) The Macaroni Grill has too much garlic for
my taste (and my wife's allergic to garlic), so I haven't been there in a
long time.

For the most part Lincoln is dominated by chain restaurants these days.
One chain we're missing is White Castle, I guess Runza takes its place.

Grandmother's (70th & A) is still pretty good. There are at least
3 DeLeons (mexican) in town now, for a local operation they're pretty
good, much better than the chain 'mexican' places.
