Moreover, a game plan is predicated on the planner's expectations
about what will happen --- what your own players can and will do
and what the opponents players and coaches can and will do. To
some extent, failures can be ascribed to the planner's failure to
correctly anticipate (and/or adjust to) what will (and does)
happen on both sides as it can be to execution of the game plan.
To say that unless execution is perfect, the game plan can't really
be questioned, seems to ignore the real purpose of the plan.
