I must be off my writing game because I don't seem to make my points,
so let me try again:

The lead story writer in the LA Daily News made the observation that
Trojan offensive linemen sank to their knees in exhaustion at the end
of the game. Knowing that many CA readers would knock him for being
anti-SC if he did not support his observation, he then quoted Kalil
and others in support of his (we hope) reasonably objective
observation.

The point being, of course, that the veteran Husker D-line backed by
a thin reserve of underclassmen had given the three-deep Trojan
O-line all it wanted on that particular day.

I think that quaifies as "promising" for at least the balance of the season.
