No, no, no.  Not the 2nd quarter.  One of the great
strengths of USC is their ability to adjust at halftime.  
I thought it was brilliant for us to "pound the rock" 
for the entire first half and wait until the second half 
to open up the playbook.  It would have worked, too.

Our problem was not the game plan.  It was the untimely
penalties, Lucky's fumble and the dropped balls (especially
the dropped interceptions).  They killed our momentum and
let USC off the hook.

USC is a great team.  You only beat them if you execute
well and keep mistakes to a minimum.  Unfortunately we
made too many mistakes.
 
Next year will be different.  We torch USC in Lincoln.
