How does having a special teams captain make much of a difference.
The teams that seem to excel at special teams situations (see VA Tech)
seem to have one thing in common, the head coach also coaches the
special teams.
I think this has several advantages:
Special teams probably get more first-line players rather than reserves.
Because it's the head coach, the players may work just a LITTLE bit harder.
Special teams isn't just a secondary task for a position coach.
