Hello Husker Fans,

I was at the game today! For all the emails I saw about how people
don't want to go to this game, the seats were sure pretty full (84k
  plus).

Here's some things to take away:

  1) Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. He was sharp on a very wet day. He
finished 19 of 23 and I seem to remember 2 of those being just plain
dropped. 10 different receivers, 202 yards. Someone else commented
on it and I was a little surprised to see him in the game as late as
he was, but I figure Callahan told him he's got the 3rd quarter not
expecting us to score twice very quickly.

  2) Maurice Purify has the tools to be a really good one. He's very
tall, good speed and seemingly good hands.

  3) Defense was good all day long except for the one 49 yard run,
which was the only time they were in our half of the field.

  4) I was not very excited about Marlon Lucky this year. I knew he
had talent, but last year he just looked lost and I didn't think he
could run between the tackles. I've since changed that stance. He
is the full package. I realize the talent level we're playing, but
as a Husker fan I've watched LOTS of running backs and I really like
him. I think he spent some time in the weight room, because he's
  become a tougher runner.

  5) Tyrell Spain saw some action and had 1 really nice tackle on the
  running back that I saw.

  6) Swift looked great on his 2 punt returns. He does a great job of
running up the field and doesn't dance around like Nunn does. I
knew he was fast, but WOW. When he gets going on the punt returns
  he looks even faster.

  7) I was really worried about the QB position after Taylor, but
after watching Ganz the past 2 weeks, I feel a lot better. I think
this guy is legitimately pretty good. Don't get me wrong, I still
hope that Taylor is healthy all season long, but I wouldn't feel
terrible at all about Joe Ganz.

  8) That was probably the quietist I've ever seen the crowd. Not
trying to be negative, just commenting on how I didn't have to talk
loudly at all to the people around me, (Including Mike Anderson who
tickets are the seats behind ours). It was a combination of the
opponent and the weather I'm sure, but just mentioning that it was
  very quiet in there.

  9) UT is gettin spanked right now by OSU. UT looks very beatable
(granted OSU is really good this year, but it's nice to know they're
not invincible). Even though UT killed themselves with TOs, OSU
looked like clearly the better team to me. UT just could not cover
  the OSU receivers.

  10) Titchener is a good punter. I was watching him warm up and he's
got a great leg. His sole 41 yard punt was skied WAY up in the air,
landed inside the 20, and we had 3 or 4 defenders around the ball
  when he finally caught it.

That's it for now. It was wet and rainy and still the only place I
  wanted to be today!
