I would tend to call the performance starting to look crisp. They
seemed to have some miscues in execution, but the encouraging part was
they also seemed to know what they were doing. I particularly noticed
how the offense broke the huddle and came to the line faster than usual.
It reminded me of the Osborne days when he deliberately tried to snap
the ball with 10 seconds left on the play clock so he could run more
plays and wear on the defense. It seemed the offense was ready to run a
play sooner than the defense several times.
Taylor ended up 22/33 after starting 0/5 with 1 INT. I see Hardy still
has some issues in being able to pull in a pass. Based upon yesterday's
game, I'd say if the receivers do their part, Taylor could approach a
70% completion rate on the season.
P.S. When I first saw that pass to Purify, I thought initially it must
have been a tight end because he was so big.
