And why was that? Could it be because Colorado and
Kansas State were recruiting better than us? Since
BC's arrival we have been stealing recruits (and
coaches) from Colorado and Jucos from K State.
One of the reasons we will consistently win the North
is because we are the recruiting giant of the North
(just like Texas is the recruiting giant of the South).

Winning the Big 12 North is proof that we are taking
care of business in the North. It means we are out-
recruiting and out-playing our B12N competition.
It also takes us to the B12 Championship game and a
chance to play in a BCS game (which someday may become
an 8-team playoff for the National Championship).

I disagree. The football culture and facilities of
Nebraska are head and shoulders above any other program
in the North. A good coach will not lose the recruiting
battle in the North. A good coach with superior talent
will not lose to North teams.

Sorry, there are no brownie points for being humiliated
in the national championship game (particularly when
our previous game was a 62-36 loss to Colorado). We
didn't deserve to be in the national championship game
in 2001 and everybody knew it.

Not if we win the recruiting battle in the North.

Your comment is premature. A BCS Bowl victory is still
on the table for this season. If we lose to Missouri,
you are welcome to call for a "vast improvement".

If we consistently beat the North on the field and beat
them recruiting, we will stay ahead of them.

Because early in this thread, Andy wrote:

I was actually directing my "admit you were wrong"
comment to Andy. When you jumped in to rebut my
initial response to Andy, I mistook you for him.
Sorry about the confusion.
Cheers,
Steven
