Excuse me, but I never "wrote off this team." The only thing I have
said is that there is a lot of football left to be played. If this team
is truly better than last year, then the remaining games will show that
is the case.

Once again, the season is not over. The 2005 Huskers proved their worth
in the final 2 games of the season. Those final two wins were arguably
more impressive than anything the team has accomplished to date. For
the third time in as many posts, my only point has been that we will
really not know how much better the 2006 Huskers are until the end of
the season.

I agree that Callahan needs to be judged on his own merits. That is why
I am not judging him, despite what you continue to assert.

I believe they would need an additional win (or a Missouri win) to
officially clinch it. And I think it's also worth pointing out that the
2000 and 2001 Nebraska teams likely would have won the North had they
gone up against the same pool of competition (which is not very good).
It's all a matter of perspective, which is why judging a coach by how
many division titles he wins is not necessarily a good metric (see my
last post).

Excuse me? I have been to every home game since the 2002 Troy State
game. I've been to a handful of away games in that time period,
including one where K-state beat us by about 30 points. Who are you to
question anyone's loyalty to their team? I can see where you think I've
been critical of Callahan, but I have *never* questioned the fact that
Callahan is committed to Nebraska. I think it's safe to say the same
about everyone that posts to this list. So please save those
accusations for somewhere else.
