It's not so much a timetable as a realization that it
takes time to develop players for a complex system.

We were right there this year with LA Tech, Nicholls State,
Troy, Iowa State, K State and Texas. Our only bad games
in 2006 have been USC (difficult road game), Kansas, and
Oklahoma State (difficult road game). In those last two
games, we were up by three scores and didn't finish the
job (a rookie mistake). We also didn't finish the job
against Texas. And in the USC, Kansas and Oklahoma State
games our passing was substandard -- Zac's completion
rates were 50%, 45% and 54% (his worst completion rates
this year).

We had a month off before the Alamo Bowl. We played well.
We had a week off before Colorado. We played well.
We had 8 months off before LA Tech. We played well.
Oklahoma State was our 9th game in a row (we lost a bye
week this year because of the 12th game). The team was
worn down and dinged up. They had an big emotional loss
against Texas (preceeded by two big road games). Then
it's on the road again to play a tough game with little
support (the fewest Husker fans in attendance of any game
this year). So, the Huskers go up by three scores, ease
off, and lose intensity (remember they're tired and dinged
up). When the tide turns and the Cowboys come back (with
the loud support of their fans), the Huskers simply didn't
have the energy to get up again.

No, he was implying that losing the North in 2000, 2001,
2002 and 2003 was mediocre.

Give BC four years to win the North. Then give him four
years to win the Big 12. Then give him four years to
win the National Championship. Then give him a parade.
Cheers,
