[Husker] The Critique of my statement that the team played hard against OSU

Several have been critical of my comments regarding the effort put forth by Nebraska against OSU last Saturday. In my defense, I will let the box score speak for itself. Nebraska had way more time of possession and more first downs than OSU. They scored on all their trips into red zone and had more sacks than OSU.

Just a few weeks ago the List was full how much better KU played than Nebraska because of the more yardage, first downs, etc. This team did not give up. While the offense and defense struggled, they still kept on playing. I don't understand the abandonment of the ground game. But those are the coach's decisions, not the players.

Did Nebraska make mistakes? Hell yes! Were there instances of poor execution by Nebraska on both sides of the ball and on special teams? Again, hell yeah! But there was no quit. The same no quit that beat Michigan in the Alamo Bowl last season.

As for Michigan, they really haven't played anyone. Most would agree that Notre Dame is over rated this season. And with the exception of Wisconsin (who struggled against a truly mediocre Illinois) the Wolverines just have played any one.

Well, I have to get back to my rockets!

Go Big Red!
